I have been reading Frederick Buechner’s words for many years and attended the Buechner Writing Workshop at Princeton Theological Seminary in the summer of 2015. My hope was to find a way to weave more of my ‘heart’ into the writing I do as an academic.

What I began instead was this blog as a public expression of my writing as a spiritual practice.

My desire for deeper meaning is one that is a sacred calling; as Buechner says the “kind of work we must do is the kind of work that the world most needs to have done.”  My writing emerges from that calling, from the whole of my life.
